Eid Prayers Must Observe Health Protocols

Klojen, (malangkota.go.id) – Ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijri, the government is increasingly serious about ensuring public security and order to avoid Covid-19. This time, the Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji together with the Malang City Forkopimda attended a virtual coordination meeting with the central government at the Ngalam Command Center (NCC), Monday (3/5/2021).

Present as a resource person, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian and followed by the Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Religion, TNI Commander, Head of BIN, Attorney General, Head of BNPB. On this occasion, the enforcement of health protocol discipline and handling of Covid-19 which became this coordination meeting.

Mayor Sutiaji said the video conference with the Minister of Home Affairs was just an affirmation regarding the enforcement of discipline and health protocols ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijri. There are many things that need to be watched out for to ensure that the situation remains safe and under control and worship can also run well.

"Including from the Ministry of Religion, where previously Eid al-Fitr prayers were prohibited from being performed in congregation, now they have been opened," explained Sutiaji.

Of course, there is a special handling to ensure that Eid prayers can run well while maintaining health protocols. Because in several countries currently, not only in India is the spike, but in other countries there is also a spike in Covid-19.

"Not only India, recently in Germany, France, Brazil, and Mexico also experienced an increase in the number of Covid-19. That is a concern in itself," continued Sutiaji.

Even though people have now been vaccinated, he said, people should not be careless about health protocols because Covid-19 has been found to have mutated.

The central government also directly delegates security in the regions, namely by giving trust to each region to implement policies including blockades.

"In the near future, the Malang City Government will also hold a meeting with all related elements to ensure that it remains safe and under control. This is to anticipate the surge in people coming to malls, shopping centers, cafes, and hotels," he concluded. (cah/ram)
