Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Writing a book is not like ordinary writing, such as writing poetry or articles, because it requires public testing, data accuracy, relatively long time and so on. Like the book that examines Four Decades (Era 1960-1990) of the History of Music in Malang City by Arief Wibisono.
This was conveyed by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji at the launch of the book at the gazebo of Malang City Hall, Monday (10/5/2021). The bespectacled man also appreciated and gave high appreciation for the publication of the book.
"Malang City is a barometer city for the development of Indonesian music. Many musicians or bands from this city have been successful, such as Anto Baret and Elpamas. We hope that a similar book will be published for the development of music in the era after 1990," he continued.
With the publication of this book, explained Mayor Sutiaji, as a form of appreciating the work of others so that it can be useful for the next generation. "Automatically, with the increasing number of books published, it will also increase public literacy," he explained.
Furthermore, the badminton enthusiast said that books could be a collection of the Malang City Public Library and Archives or other reading parks. So that it will be more widely known by the public, especially the young people," said Sutiaji.
Arief Wibisono, the author of the book, admitted that he was very happy and proud because his work was appreciated by the Mayor of Malang and various parties. "In the future, as conveyed by the mayor, we will design the next book, namely regarding the history of music in Malang City after 1990," he said. (say/ram)
