Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Covid-19 Task Force together with Malang City BPBD personnel moved quickly by spraying disinfectant en masse on Jalan Raya Lowokdoro gang 4 and gang 3, Kebonsari Village, Sukun District, Monday (24/5/2021). This step was taken after it was detected that a resident in gang 4 had died due to being positive for Covid-19 and seven other family members tested positive.

Head of Emergency and Logistics Division of Malang City BPBD, Nur Asmi said that this step is to suppress the spread of the virus caused by family clusters. According to him, until now of the seven people who are positive, four of them have tested negative and are undergoing self-isolation. While the other three people are still undergoing isolation at the Malang City Government's safe house on Jalan Kawi.
After conducting tracing and tracking, explained the woman in the hijab, all residents in alleys 3 and 4 were required to undergo antigen tests at the Kebonsari Health Center. The Sukun District Covid-19 Task Force temporarily closed access for residents to enter and exit in order to suppress the spread of the virus.
"We from BPBD have also provided disinfectant liquid to residents to be sprayed around their homes every day. Health protocols must also be implemented strictly, so that people exposed to the virus can be suppressed," added Asmi.
For now, he said, the zone is still orange because the situation can still be controlled by the Covid-19 Task Force and so that residents anticipate and/or prevent the spread of the virus. "Indeed, yesterday 3-4 days ago someone died and was declared positive for Covid-19 and it turned out to have an impact on all of his family members who were also declared positive," explained Asmi.
Regarding the family cluster, the Covid-19 Task Force and the Malang City BPBD will continue to monitor, trace and track so that residents exposed to the virus do not spread further. Previously, last week in the Tlogomas Village area, a mosque or tarawih prayer cluster was also detected and one resident died.
After conducting mass rapid antigen tests, the area is currently under strict supervision by the Covid-19 Task Force. "We hope that in the near future all residents can be declared negative and undergo self-isolation. We are also monitoring for 24 hours," concluded Asmi. (say/ram)
