Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Not having a nature-based tourist destination does not discourage the Youth, Sports and Tourism Agency (Disporapar) of Malang City from boosting the level of tourist visits. This is because Malang City has other advantages and tourism segments, namely cultural tourism or heritage performances and culinary. These various potentials also strengthen Malang Raya tourism where Batu City with its artificial tourism and Malang Regency with beach tourism.
These are some of the things conveyed by the Head of Disporapar Dr. Ida Ayu Made Wahyuni, SH., M.Si after the inauguration of the management of the Malang City Regional Tourism Promotion Agency (BPPD) for the 2021-2024 period. At the inauguration held by Malang City Hall on Thursday (27/5/2021), Hariadi was elected as the new chairman. Ida said that in order to further boost the level of tourist visits, BPPD must continue to strengthen synergy with a number of related parties.
Ida mentioned, such as travel communities, BPPD Batu City, Malang Regency, Indonesian tour guide association, airlines, and the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI). While some heritage tours in Malang City that can attract tourists, including in the Kayu Tangan area on Jalan Basuki Rahmad, Jalan Ijen and Malang City Hall.
Other tourism potentials that also support, explained the bespectacled woman, are Kampung Warna Warni, Kampung Tridi and various culinary and performance or event tourism. "All of that will be a special attraction for every tourist who comes," she added.
So, said Ida, how can BPPD make breakthroughs to carry out activities that have the nuance of bringing tourists, both foreign and domestic tourists to Malang City. "And cooperation is not only with related agencies, but also with other tourism associations. Then also with BPPD East Java, so that they can package various activities in order to bring tourists, and of course with more intensity and maximum what they do later," he continued.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji appealed to the newly inaugurated BPPD administrators to have valid data related to tourism potential. According to him, the data must also be continuously updated so that it will make it easier for tourists to come.
"With the various tourism advantages that exist and become a tourism booster for Batu City and Malang Regency, Malang City also contributes greatly. Therefore, it is better for BPPD in Malang Raya not only to collaborate, but to have one vision to boost the number of tourist visits," he appealed.
On the other hand, the elected Head of BPPD Malang City, Drs. Hariadi said that his party will first work to advance tourism in Malang City, act and help the Malang City Government by how to further improve its tourism market.
If so, he explained, it can attract the attention of Indonesian and foreign people so that they will flock to Malang City. "Indeed, our task is heavy, but I am sure with our compact team such as from PHRI, communities, tourism awareness groups, and united travel," he said.
"All of them have a commitment to build Malang City so that this city is more advanced and greater, and of course better known throughout Indonesia and the world. Malang City has different tourism advantages from other regions and we will push it as hard as possible," concluded Hariadi. (say/ram)
