Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The prolonged humanitarian tragedy in Palestine continues to be the world's attention, including Indonesia as a nation that opposes colonialism in any form. In addition, Indonesia has been in debt for decades, because Palestine is one of the first countries to recognize Indonesia's independence.

News about the bombardment of Gaza since the end of Ramadan has become very heartbreaking. When many casualties fell, at least more than 200 people died including children, women and the elderly. Solidarity actions echoed in various parts of Indonesia, not accepting that their distant relatives had to be persecuted.
One of them is Sardo Swalayan in Malang which has donated Rp500 million for humanitarian aid in the form of one ambulance unit. The donation was deposited through the Malang City Rapid Response Action (ACT) which was handed over directly at Sardo Swalayan, Thursday (27/5/2021).
The donation was handed over by Rini as the Manager of Sardo Swalayan and received by Iqrok Wahyu Perdana as the Banch Manager of ACT Malang City. Rini also invited other shops and business lines to actively participate in helping Palestine. "We are only a small supermarket, we only have one branch, so I apologize for only being able to donate this much," she said.
"We hope that not only us, but other supermarkets with larger networks can provide more to help our brothers and sisters in Palestine," said Rini.
Meanwhile, Iqrok also said that this is a wave of concern that cannot be stopped anymore, "This movement will be intensified so that community participation is wider," he said.
ACT itself received financial aid for Palestine and provided emergency services during the Israeli attacks in the form of medical services, fast food services to ambulances and temporary housing for Palestinians whose homes were destroyed. (say/ram)
