Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government through the Food Security and Agriculture Service (Dispangtan) became a resource person at the training event on good fish farming methods (CBIB) held by the Amanah Fish Palace Cooperative at STIE Kertanegara, Saturday (12/6/2021). This training is to help fish farmers to be better and increase income after harvest.

Training on how to cultivate tilapia at STIE Kertanegara

The Head of the Amanah Fish Palace Cooperative, Agus Wahyudi, said that this activity is a work program of the Amanah Fish Palace Cooperative. The activity was attended by 60 fish farmers from Malang Raya. "This activity is a charity of knowledge in the field of fish farming, especially for tilapia fish," explained Agus Wahyudi.

Through this method, Agus hopes to help fish farmers in Malang Raya to minimize crop failure. Because tilapia cultivation in Malang is different from other areas in hot areas. Malang City with a cold area and located in a mountainous area requires special skills.

As a follow-up to this activity, Agus Wahyudi said that the Amanah Fish Palace Cooperative will hold another training with a different theme. Among the activities is processing fish.

"Why is it also necessary to process fish? This is intended so that fish farmers have the option to increase the selling value of the fish they farm," said Agus.

For example, if sold normally the price of one kilogram of tilapia with five fish is around Rp25 thousand to Rp28 thousand, then when the tilapia has been processed it can increase. One tilapia can be sold for Rp10 thousand, if one kilogram contains five fish of course the price obtained can be Rp50 thousand.

"Many dishes can be made from tilapia, starting from grilled fish, smoked tilapia, tilapia meatballs, tilapia nuggets, tilapia siomay, and others," concluded Agus. (cah/ram)
