Malang (malangkota.go.id) – The collaboration between the Malang City Government and the Indonesian Music Museum (MMI) supported by Perumda Air Minum Tugu Tirta Malang City continues. This time carrying the theme of World Environment Day, MMI presents Indonesian musicians who are enthusiastic about voicing messages of nature and the environment.
"Among them are Ully Sigar Rusadi, Gombloh, The Rollies, Iwan Fals, The Gembells, Rita Ruby Hartland, Koes Plus, Frankie and Jane, Deddy Stanzah and Tina Silvana who are Malang kids," said Hengki Herwanto, Chairman of MMI Malang City.
Centered in the lobby of Malang City Hall, like the previous rounds, it displays the travel notes of local musicians adjusting to the theme carried. The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji responded positively and accommodated and sharpened, that the lobby is like a display case. Because, the city hall building is indeed visited by many people so it can be positioned as a vehicle and ambassador for infographics and information on various issues.
"I think this is good, combining Indonesian musician literacy with current issues," said Sutiaji.
This is a portrait of the musicians featured in the collaboration between Malang City Government and MMI at Malang City Hall.
Ully Sigar Rusady
Rulany Indra Gartika Wirahaditenaya is the real name of the musician and environmental activist born in Garut, January 4, 1952. A song he composed entitled Harmoni Kehidupan was selected as the Indonesian Ambassador to the Pop Singer Festival in Japan in 1978.
Iwan Fals
Virgiawan Listanto was born in Jakarta on September 3, 1961, known by his stage name Iwan Fals, is a singer, musician, songwriter, and critic who is one of the legends in Indonesia.
Tina Silvana
Tina Silvana is a singer from Malang City who has a distinctive and unique voice. Her debut emerged after releasing her first album entitled "Di Bukit Panderman" (a beautiful hill at the foot of Mount Kawi, Batu City which is usually climbed by beginner mountain climbers) which was released by Duba Record. But unfortunately after the first album then disappeared and she now lives in Rennes City - France
Franky & Jane
Franky Hubert Sahilatua & Jean Mauren Sahilatua or commonly known as Franky & Jane, although the rhythm of country music is very pronounced in their work, the soul of the music they bring contains the atmosphere of Indonesian culture. Franky & Jane's advantages are seen in their narrative lyrics with the theme of worshiping nature. This theme about nature can be heard from one of their songs entitled "Kepada Angin dan Burung Burung".
The Rollies
The Rollies is a jazz rock, pop, soul funk music group from Bandung that was formed in 1967. As musicians, The Rollies have succeeded in making their mark when the song Kemarau was awarded the Kalpataru award in 1979.
Ritta Rubby Hartland
Ritta Rubby Hartland is an Indonesian country singer who was famous in the 80s. Born in Bandung, April 13, 1960. She has released many albums including: Kepada Alam dan Pembuatannya, Suara Kecil Dari Panti Asuhan, Nyanyian Sawah, and many more, all of the songs and lyrics are themed on nature, social and the environment.
Koes Plus
The legendary band Koes Plus has made a lake called Kolam Susuk even more well-known to many people through a song. Kolam Susu, or originally called Kolam Susuk, really exists, namely in Belu, East Nusa Tenggara. Seeing the natural beauty and uniqueness of the pool, one of its personnel, Yon Koeswoyo, was amazed. He then immortalized the pool in a song entitled "Kolam Susu"
The Gembell's
The Gembells is a music group from Surabaya that was founded in the late 1960s. The name TheGembells is an acronym for the words GemarBelajar. They began recording their first album entitled “Pahlawan yang Dilupakan” in 1971. Balada Kalimas itself was recorded in 1972. Kalimas is the name of a river that runs through the middle of Surabaya. This river has many functions for people's lives. Many of The Gembells' songs are themed on social criticism, and one of the song titles is Peristiwa Kaki Lima which was banned by the government at that time.
Goofy
Gombloh is a true ballad songwriter. Berita Cuaca is an album by Gombloh with Lemon Tree's Anno '69. This album was released in cassette format by Indra Record in 1982. The song Lestari Alamku (Berita Cuaca) is a masterpiece by the late Gombloh that reminds us that we must protect and care for the preservation of nature in our beloved country.
Deddy Stanzah
Through the song “Sepercik Air”, Deddy Stanzah says hello to the world. That is an excerpt of the lyrics of the song by Iman A Bharata in the album “10 Penyur Lagu Remaja” which was released by Prambors and became a hit in 1979. Deddy was then invited to Malang by students of the Faculty of Law UB to perform at the Pulosari GOR Malang. In 1973 he performed at the Tenun GOR with The Rollies as seen in the photo (wit/ram)
