Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the Development of Kedungkandang Bridge Park in the courtroom of Malang City Hall

Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji said that the construction of the park under the Kedungkandang Bridge must be in accordance with the principles of safety for road users and the use of green open space (RTH) by paying attention to aesthetics.

"The naming that will be used, if possible, is like Taman Kiai Malik Dalam or others. The hope is that the construction of this park can be used by all ages from children to the elderly," hoped Sutiaji at the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the Construction of the Kedungkandang Bridge Park in the Malang City Hall courtroom, Tuesday (29/6/2021).

Meanwhile, Head of Malang City DLH Drs. Wahyu Setianto, MM said that one of the goals of building a park under the Kedungkandang Bridge is not only to add an icon to Malang City, but also to add green open space.

"Currently, the green open space in Malang City is still lacking even though it already has 84 city parks. This year, DLH is in the process of building and renovating city parks, one of which is building a park under the Kedungkandang Bridge," explained Wahyu.

In this FGD, appreciation and several inputs were also conveyed from regional apparatus within the Malang City Government regarding the construction of the Kedungkandang Bridge Park.

Some suggestions given in this FGD include, among others, that park development would be better if it minimized active parks in terms of environmental and security aspects, paying attention to various possibilities that arise with the development of this park such as parking, street vendors (PKL), and so on.

Also attending and providing suggestions at this FGD were the heads of regional apparatuses in the Malang City Government, Commission C of the Malang City DPRD, the Head of the Kedungkandang District LPMK, community leaders of the Kedungkandang District, the Head of the Buring LPMK, the Head of the Indonesian Architects Association (IAI) Malang Branch, the Head of the Indonesian Landscape Architects Association (IALI) Malang Branch, and the Head of the Indonesian Landscape Architects Association (IALI) East Java Province.
