Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – In order to commemorate the 25th National Elderly Day (HLUN), the Malang City Social Service, Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning (Dinsos P3AP2KB) held a 25 HLUN Commemoration Discussion at the Rayz Hotel Malang, Monday (2021/28/6).

The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji and his wife said that the Malang City Government is very committed to strengthening the elderly (Lansia) with the presence of all stakeholders related to the elderly at this moment. "The government must be present in the midst of our lives in a macro way. Starting from pre-marriage, marriage, still one month pregnant, to giving birth and to old age," said Sutiaji.
The 2021 HLUN commemoration is still in the Covid-19 pandemic period so that health protocols are always prioritized. With the theme 'Happy Elderly with Family', it is hoped that the family will become a place for the sowing of love for everyone. From this condition, parents become the cornerstone for the younger generation as well as role models.
"There are approximately 17 thousand elderly people with comorbidities in Malang City. Our hope is to make goodness viral, we must strengthen it together," said Sutiaji.

Sutiaji appealed to the elderly to tighten health protocols, one of which is wearing masks properly. "I beg you once again, do not open the mask and I change my mask every two hours to protect myself," he said.
Meanwhile, Malang Deputy Mayor Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko who is the Chairperson of the Malang City Elderly Committee conveyed that various existing policies should be utilized as well as possible. "I have a message to choose (Javanese: I advise you to choose, RED) activity sing (Which, RED) supports the realization of Malang as an Elderly Friendly City, so that it can be realized quickly," he said.
"The park is built for the elderly, the transportation is supported by infrastructure for the elderly. Likewise, the offices and so on, will soon be realized. The program is focused there," continued the man who is often called Bung Edi.
Meanwhile, Head of Dinsos P3AP2KB Malang City Dra. Penny Indriani, MM said that this activity is an effort to improve the social welfare of the elderly. Among them, a series of activities carried out in coordination between the government and the community to empower the elderly.

"So that the elderly can still carry out their social functions and play an active role in a reasonable manner and live in society, nation and state," said Penny Indriani.
At this event, the Malang City Government symbolically handed over medical equipment in five sub-districts of Malang City as well as the handover of grant funds. Each of the grant funds, namely the Karang Werda Communication Forum Rp50 million, the Abiyoso Gorontologi Foundation Rp200 million, Pepabri Rp50 million, and the Indonesian Veteran Legion (LVRI) Rp50 million.
