Malang (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government through the Communication and Informatics Agency (Diskominfo) held a Technical Guidance for the Preparation of the Smart City Masterplan & Quick Win Featured Program Phase I at the Ngalam Command Center (NCC) Malang City Hall and in the Integrated Office Meeting Room, Building B, 3rd Floor, Wednesday (30/7/2021). The event, which was held online and offline, was for the development and strengthening of literacy.

Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji said that, through this technical guidance activity, it is expected to strengthen commitment, consistency, and implementation in the field that is measured step by step in realizing a smart city. So that in its application later, the smart city can provide direct benefits to the people of Malang City.
"In addition, it is expected that the implementation of smart city can also build the value and selling power of Malang City Government to the community. So that public trust in Malang City Government and the state is getting stronger," added Mayor Sutiaji.
"How a smart city is built has substance, so it's not just a program and becomes a style. So the smart city in the future will take place, the key word is measured by our commitment," he continued.
The smart city masterplan in Malang City is important, especially in relation to tourism. Where Malang City is a buffer zone for the national tourism area, namely Bromo Tengger Semeru (BTS). The importance of making a masterplan because it is not something instant but there is a process, so a review is needed.
"The name of the plan must contain futuristic. So what is the future plan, what is the 25 years plan. The variables and instruments are included so that the planning is anticipatory and the futuristic elements are included," he added.
The six components of a smart city are realized in stages, namely smart governance, smart branding, smart economy, smart living, smart society, and smart environment.
"We used to take smart governance. When good government is running, God willing, the legitimacy of the community related to the government will be stronger. So that government programs will be monitored directly by the community because public trust in the state is getting stronger. Then there is the benefit of mutual symbiosis that is well built," explained Sutiaji.
From smart governance can develop on all pillars of smart economy, smart living, even smart society. This will be the strength of all including commitment especially related to tourism issues, namely smart branding. Related to tourism issues, three regional heads of Malang Raya, namely Malang City, Batu City, and Malang Regency already have a commitment through a shared vision and mission that strengthens.
"Commitment becomes an extraordinary power. Tourism preparation, such as Kayutangan will be its support. For example, people going to Bromo usually depart from Malang City at 02.00 in the morning, later we will accommodate tourists in Malang City who want to go to Bromo to hang out in Kayutangan," he concluded.
