Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The implementation of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) set by the central government continues to be anticipated by the Malang City Government. So that its implementation can run well with various preparations that continue to be carried out.
Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji hopes that the Emergency PPKM will not only be set for Malang City or Java and Bali. However, his party wants the Emergency PPKM which will take place on July 3-20, 2021 to be implemented nationally. "I have submitted a proposal to the East Java Provincial Government, so that the Emergency PPKM can be implemented comprehensively. It cannot be done only partially," explained Sutiaji, Thursday (1/7/2021).
If Emergency PPKM is only implemented in some areas, of course the results will not be effective. Because if lockdown local, it is the same as meaningless because it is only a temporary restriction. "In our opinion, it should be done nationally. The Emergency PPKM policy will only run optimally if all regions do it. Because the high number of Covid-19 transmission is caused by transmission from one region to another," he added.
Likewise for Malang City, which is adjacent to Batu City and Malang Regency. If Emergency PPKM is implemented for two weeks, of course it is possible. However, the problem is when there are newcomers who are exposed, of course it will be a problem again. "If Malang City is closed for two weeks. Then it opens again and it turns out that many newcomers come who are exposed, then it will be a problem," said Sutiaji.
Emergency PPKM cannot be implemented if it is only a sectoral policy in a particular city. If that is done, it will certainly prolong the problem. "We are currently still waiting for technical instructions regarding Emergency PPKM. However, the information we received is that Emergency PPKM is stricter than Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB)," said Sutiaji.
"We welcome it if the Emergency PPKM is implemented massively and comprehensively. This will be more than PSBB. The emergency PPKM is total Work From Home (WFH), no Work From Office (WFO). There is no movement of people to the office and to the mall. Only economic access may continue to run. Of course, all of that requires careful anticipation and planning," he concluded. (cah/ram)
