Malang (malangkota.go.id) – Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji said that Malang City has extraordinary creative economy (ekraf) potential that continues to be optimized and maximized. The creative economy is the center of strength, sustainability and integration of the Malang City economy. So it is prioritized in increasing regional productivity and competitiveness, as well as welfare and increasing infrastructure development.

"The current pandemic situation is not a monetary crisis, but a crisis due to the inability of producers and demand to meet. The creative economy is one of the answers that can bring producers together with this demand," added Mayor Sutiaji at the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on Measuring the Growth of the Creative Economy of Malang City in 2021 in the mayor's office, Malang City Hall, Monday (12/7/2021).
According to Jack Ma, said Sutiaji, in the future it is predicted that those who will dominate the world economy are micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) whose basic is e-commerce. This is one of the instruments or variables in the creative economy so it must continue to be strengthened. By knowing the indicators, it is hoped that Malang City will have a high per capita income and the number of unemployed can decrease.
"From the 16 sub-sectors of the creative economy, I think all of them are included in Malang. But maybe we have to sort them out, we have priority scales such as applications and games. Hopefully this will be our commitment as the vision and mission that we have developed," he said.
The development of the creative economy is in accordance with the mandate of Law Number 24 of 2019 concerning the Creative Economy. Where the creative economy is a manifestation of added value from intellectual property that comes from human creativity based on cultural heritage, science, and technology. (eka/ram)
