Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji handed over logistics packages and health kits for self-isolating residents and Covid-19 funeral workers

Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji handed over logistics packages for self-isolating residents and healthy kits for Covid-19 funeral workers at the Gazebo of Malang City Hall, Thursday (22/7/2021). Sutiaji said that anyone who later undergoes self-isolation will receive assistance from the Malang City Government.

"Where did the funds come from? Meanwhile, today's funds were handed over from Baznas which came from the Thousand Movement (Gerbu). Every day, ASN donates a thousand rupiah. We collected the thousand rupiah and Alhamdulillah, this was able to reach 250 packages per sub-district for five sub-districts in Malang City, as well as 250 packages for BPBD as well," he explained.

Sutiaji said, while the total logistical assistance packages that were handed over on this occasion were 1.250 packages in the form of rice, sugar, oil and others. In addition, there are 250 packages that will be handed over to the Malang City BPBD. This logistical assistance package will later be directly distributed to each sub-district and handed over to residents undergoing Covid-19 isoman. Through this logistical assistance package, it can help ease the burden of Covid-19 patients who are currently undergoing isoman.

"In addition, there are also some who come to us from corporate social responsibility (CSR) to back up our friends who are self-isolating. What about people who are economically affected who are not self-isolating? We will also strengthen social assistance (bansos), soon we will have a cut in allowances for ASN class VII and above, more or less if three months will be collected around IDR 10 billion," he added.

Regarding the data, said Sutiaji, through RT and RW it can be known the number of residents who received donations for isoman and those who did not receive social assistance. So those affected are not only people who are in isoman, those who originally sell will not be guaranteed food.

"So we update the data from RT/RW which will actually be our strength. Because in the standard operating procedure (SOP) for Micro PPKM, there is something called information resilience," explained Sutiaji.

Sutiaji appealed to continue strengthening the thousand movement currently managed by Baznas Malang City. According to him, the extraordinary potential of the community, hopefully, will become a force for caring and sharing with each other.

"The current contribution given by Baznas is a contribution of a thousand that is collected every day, a thousand, two thousand, five thousand but consistently. We realize it with various things that are currently managed by Baznas. There are many things that we can actually do, including during the Covid-19 pandemic season," he concluded. (eka/ram)
