Jokowi expressed that he fully understands the condition of Indonesian children during the Covid-19 pandemic. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, children's day activities could be carried out directly. Where children can no longer go to school, cannot meet friends, cannot meet relatives.

"All children are the future of the nation, continue to be happy and diligent in studying. Don't forget to pray to Allah SWT to ask for protection for all of us, the Indonesian nation," explained Jokowi.

Jokowi also explained to the children that, since March last year, the Indonesian nation has experienced the Covid-19 pandemic. During the pandemic, children often stayed at home, did not go to school, and did not travel.
In July 2021, there was actually a plan to reopen schools. However, because the Covid-19 pandemic has risen again, face-to-face schools are still canceled. Later, when the Covid-19 pandemic is over or has subsided, face-to-face schools will be held again.

Jokowi also advised children to obey health protocols, wear masks, wash their hands frequently, and not forget to keep their distance.

Meanwhile, Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati said that the commemoration of children's day is very important to remind children of their rights. There are four children's rights that are the basic rights of children.

"The right to life, the right to grow and develop, the right to be protected, and the right to participate. The fulfillment of these rights will greatly help the growth and development of children," said Gusti. (cah/ram)
