Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Like last year, the commemoration of the 76th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia was still celebrated amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The Malang City Government held a ceremony in the front yard of Malang City Hall, Tuesday (17/8/2021) by implementing strict health protocols.

Resilient Indonesia, Growing Indonesia is the theme of the 76th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia this year. This can be achieved with an open attitude and readiness to change in facing a world full of disruption, and can be achieved with the attitude of the nation working together and joining hands in one goal. This ceremony was attended by limited invitations and implemented strict health protocols.
After attending the ceremony, Mayor Sutiaji together with Deputy Mayor of Malang Sofyan Edi Jarwoko and the Malang City Forkopimda then attended the virtual commemoration ceremony of the proclamation from the Merdeka Palace in the Malang City Hall Meeting Room.
Mayor Sutiaji said the theme of Indonesia Tangguh Indonesia Tumbuh shows that Indonesia must be resilient. "We will be resilient when we feel that none of us are great. So we must respect each other and share with each other," he said.
He said that togetherness is what makes Indonesia strong. The key is to grow, because Indonesia is together. So this is what must be made viral, not only during the pandemic season, but building Indonesia must be through cooperation and togetherness.
"If it is resilient, then the tests and temptations will be able to be faced and passed, so that economic growth will be measurable. What will be driven, and the ideals of an independent Indonesia can truly be achieved and we become a dignified nation," he added.
In a Covid-19 pandemic situation like this, ceremonies with an online/virtual system and a new model following the ceremony held from the Merdeka Palace are something new and must be able to adapt to the situation. "In Malang City, the ceremony was also held virtually, some were physical with limited participants. This does not reduce the sacred value and respect for the fighters who have died on the battlefield to defend our country to become an independent country," he said.
Through this moment of commemorating the 76th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, it is hoped that the Indonesian nation will be more resilient in facing the Covid-19 pandemic and the challenges and obstacles to achieving the nation's ideals. Through constructive criticism, the government will continue to fulfill its responsibilities as expected by the people. For information, this ceremony was attended virtually from five sub-districts, 57 urban villages within the Malang City Government.
In this ceremony, as the inspector of the ceremony, the Mayor of Malang Sutiaji, the commander of the ceremony Pamen TNI AU Lanud Abdulrachman Saleh Major Teknik Rizki Ratnawan Guntoro, the ceremonial officer Assistant for Government and Public Welfare Drs. Mulyono, M.Si. While the text of the proclamation was read by the Chairman of the Malang City DPRD I Made Riandiana Kartika and the security officer Plt. Head of Satpol PP Malang City.
