Malang (malangkota.go.id) – Various efforts were made by members of the Polri Satlantas from the Malang City Police to echo the love of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). Such as during the commemoration of the 76th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, Tuesday (17/8/2021).

The Polri members assisted by Supeltas personnel then distributed mini red and white flags, after which the residents were told to take a perfect stance. With a position of respect for the red and white flag held by several Polri members, they then sang the song Indonesia Raya. This step was taken so that residents, especially road users, would also commemorate the 76th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia even though they did not officially attend the ceremony.
Head of the Traffic Education and Engineering Unit (Kanit Dikyasa) of the Malang City Police Traffic Unit, Iptu Mochammad Sochib, said that things like this are very important and must be done. Love for the homeland, according to him, must continue to be inflamed and echoed wherever it is, especially during the commemoration of Independence Day like today.
"Growing and strengthening nationalism and patriotism must start from small things so that it will continue to be embedded in each person's soul. Because something if it does not start from small things, it will be difficult to become big. We are trying to realize all of that, so that the sense of nationalism of the people continues to strengthen," he added.
On the same day, precisely on Tuesday afternoon, members of the Traffic Police also handed over a number of aids to residents who were victims of traffic accidents. In addition to the red and white flag, the disabled victims and families of the deceased also received basic necessities.
This program is also supported by the Malang City Government through the Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing and Residential Areas Agency (DPUPRPKP) and PT Jasa Raharja as a form of concern.
Head of the Highways Division of the Malang City DPUPRPKP, Eko Setyo Mahanani, who was present and handed over the aid, said that so far the cooperation with the Malang City Police Traffic Unit has been very good. "We always coordinate regarding road repairs or other facilities, so that it will help reduce the number of traffic accidents. We will continue to strengthen this kind of synergy so that it can be beneficial for the community," he said. (say/ram)
