Malang (malangkota.go.id) – The ranks of the Indonesian National Police continue to move to help residents and/or community groups affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. This time it came from alumni of the Police Academy (Akpol) in 2.000, including the Malang City Police Chief AKBP Budi Hermanto which was held in Malang City, Wednesday (25/8/2021).

Malang City Police Chief AĶBP Budi Hermanto, who is also an alumni of Akpol in 2.000, handed over social assistance to those entitled to receive it.

Symbolically, the aid was given by Kapolresta Budi to those entitled to receive it in the yard of Malang City Police Headquarters, before being distributed to the recipients from door to door of residents' homes. The total aid consisted of 5 tons of rice, 500 liters of cooking oil, 130 basic food packages, and 3.000 medical masks.

In the program titled 'shared smiles for the country', a number of groups are targeted for aid distribution, namely those who are truly affected or impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Among them are the online motorcycle taxi driver community, street vendors, traffic control volunteers (Supeltas), traffic accident victims, and people with disabilities.

Malang City Police Chief AKBP Budi Hermanto added, in East Java there are 28 personnel alumni of the Police Academy in 2.000 who today began moving together as well as in 34 Regional Police in Indonesia. "Although this assistance may not be worth much, at least there is concern and the Police are present in the midst of the community who are in need of a helping hand," he added.

In the distribution of this aid, it will involve Babinsa so that the distribution is right on target. As a form of concern for the community, the alumni of the Police Academy in 2.000 and as the police chief, explained the man who is familiarly called Buher will present various social or other humanitarian activities.

He gave examples, such as mass vaccination, distribution of medical masks, helping with school fees and spraying disinfectants. "All of these are real steps we take as members of the National Police in an effort to help suppress the spread of Covid-19. Hopefully what we do will be useful for those who are entitled to receive it," concluded Kapolresta Buher. (say/ram)
