Starfruit, (malangkota.go.id) – The long pandemic conditions have not killed the pulse of art in the Polowijen Cultural Village (KBP). Although there have been no visitors coming as usual, KBP activists continue to create and develop art.

The initiator of KBP, Isa Wahyudi or commonly called Ki Demang, said that even though there are no tourists coming, KBP activists are still active. Some are making batik, making dolanan crafts, learning puppetry, and some are learning to dance. "We hope that the pandemic will pass soon so that the Polowijen Cultural Village can be visited by tourists normally again," explained Ki Demang, Tuesday (14/9/2021).
Ki Demang added that by continuing to carry out activities and develop the arts, it is hoped that when the situation returns to normal, Polowijen Cultural Village can recover quickly. With this condition, his party is still waiting for information from the government about when Malang City will be declared level 2 so that tourists can visit again. "To anticipate tourism being reopened, we have prepared health protocols in Polowijen Cultural Village," continued Ki Demang.
Currently, Malang City is entering PPKM Level 3, so Ki Demang hopes that in October 2021, Malang City will enter PPKM Level 2. If that happens, it will certainly be good news for arts and tourism actors so that the economy can recover.
"Currently, we are also creating cultural content by utilizing cyberspace. This supports our efforts to continue preserving the arts in Polowijen Cultural Village," he concluded. (cah/ram)
