From this phenomenon, both institutions are required to be more transparent and can prove that the negative issues that have been circulating in the community related to blood donation are not true.
In this regard, PDDI Malang City has made various efforts to suppress and dispel negative issues, such as by launching the pddimalang.id website on Monday (20/9/2021) in the hall of the RRI Malang City Office. This event is also to commemorate the 43rd anniversary of PDDI Malang City. So that if residents receive issues or bad news, this website can be used to straighten out various information that is considered odd.
The Head of PDDI Malang City, Drs. H. Sutiaji confirmed this after the website launch. Through the complaint column, various matters related to blood donation can be asked at any time. In addition, the main information related to the blood donation schedule, requirements to become a donor to blood stock at PMI Malang City can also be accessed on the website.
"This website is also an effort to increase literacy for the community about the importance of blood donation. Like how useful a drop of blood is for people in need and will improve the health of the donor. From blood donation, a sense of togetherness and helping each other will also be built," added the number one person in the Malang City Government.
Mayor Sutiaji further explained that the process of donating blood, especially convalescent donors, sometimes takes a long time and also costs money. This is what needs to be straightened out, and do not claim that there is an attempt to buy and sell blood. "The presence of the pddimalang.id website is one of the things that will answer that later," he said.
In order to continue to dismiss and suppress issues that cannot be proven true, PDDI Malang City also collaborates with several parties, such as the public broadcasting institution RRI and the Malang City Communication and Informatics Service (Diskominfo). So that true and accurate information is conveyed to the public, and at the same time to prevent the circulation of fake news or hoaxes. (say/ram)
