Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – In order to commemorate the 2021 Pancasila Sanctity Day, the Malang City Government also held a virtual ceremony from Malang City Hall, Friday (1/10/2021). The ceremony was led by President Joko Widodo from the Pancasila Sakti Monument, Lubang Buaya, East Jakarta.

President Joko Widodo led a joint prayer to commemorate the services of fallen heroes, especially the heroes of the revolution. The event also included a reading of the Pancasila text by the Chairman of the DPD RI, La Nyalla Mattaliti.
Meanwhile, the reading of the 1945 Constitution was carried out by MPR Chairman Bambang Soesatyo and DPR RI Chairwoman Puan Maharani reading and signing the Pancasila Sanctity Day oath. "Therefore, before God Almighty, in commemorating Pancasila Sanctity Day, we are determined to continue to maintain and practice the values of Pancasila as a source of strength, to build togetherness to fight for, uphold truth and justice for the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia," was an excerpt of the oath read by Puan Maharani.
Before the ceremony was closed, Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qaumas acted as the prayer reader. The ceremony was attended in person by First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin and Mrs. Wury Ma'ruf Amin, Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Nadiem Makarim, TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
In addition, the ceremony was attended virtually by ministers, heads of state institutions/central agencies, and families of revolutionary heroes. Pancasila Sanctity Day is commemorated every October 1. The commemoration of Pancasila Sanctity Day began with the Decree of the Minister/Army Commander General Soeharto on September 17, 1966.

The letter stated that the commemoration of Pancasila Sanctity Day must be carried out by all Army troops by involving other troops and the community. The Deputy Commander of the Indonesian Army at that time, Lieutenant General Maraden Panggabean, said that Pancasila was the way of life of the Indonesian nation that had once received extraordinary threats.
According to Panggabean, the commemoration of Pancasila Sanctity Day aims for the Indonesian people to remember the events of the September 30th Movement (G30S/PKI). In addition, to prevent a recurrence of the event.
Also attending the virtual ceremony at Malang City Hall were the Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji, Deputy Mayor of Malang Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko, Regional Secretary of Malang City Erik Setyo Santoso, ST., MT, the ranks of the Malang City Forkopimda, and Forkopimda Plus, and the Coordinating Forkopimda. (cah/ram)
