Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The enthusiasm of residents of Bandungrejosari Village, Malang City to participate in the Covid-19 vaccination received a positive response from the Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko, Monday (11/10/2021). Initially, there were only 19 prospective Covid-500 vaccination participants. However, after the process was underway, it turned out that many more people participated in the vaccination at the Isa Al-Masih Church.
Bung Edi, Sofyan Edi Jarwoko's nickname, said that the enthusiasm of the people in Bandungrejosari Village was extraordinary. From the initial plan of 500 people who took part in the vaccine, it turned out that on the day of implementation there were more than 700 people who came.
"It's no problem. At first it was only 500, then it became 700. Thank God, we have prepared even 1.000 people who came," explained Bung Edi.
Bung Edi added, through this reality, his party did not forget to express gratitude to all parties. Be it RT, RW, the village, sub-district, and health workers, TNI/Polri and all parties who helped make the Covid-19 vaccination event a success. "After taking the first dose of vaccination in Bandungrejosri, the plan is for the second dose to be carried out on November 8, 2021," said Bung Edi.
The more people who undergo vaccination, he said, it is hoped that herd immunity or group immunity of 70 percent will be formed soon. Through this path, even though Covid-19 is still there, the condition of the community is already good. Bung Edi also advised to improve vaccination services for the elderly. "Please take your parents (elderly) to the health center to undergo vaccination. So that all groups in Malang City will have better immunity," concluded Bung Edi. (cah/ram)
