Collaborating with Malang City Police, PWI Malang Raya Injects 1.250 Vaccines

Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Various elements of society continue to move to continue to suppress and control the Covid-19 pandemic. Such as in the strict implementation of health protocols and the implementation of mass vaccinations. In this context, the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) of Malang Raya also contributed by injecting 1.250 doses of the Sinovac vaccine, Tuesday (12/10/2021).

The Head of the Malang Raya PWI, Cahyono, together with the Malang City Police Chief and the Chancellor of IKIP Budi Utomo, reviewed the implementation of the vaccination.

In collaboration with the Malang City Police and implemented at the IKIP Budi Utomo campus, the first and second stages of the Sinovac vaccine were injected into students at the campus and residents of Malang Raya. This event also supports the plan for face-to-face lectures at this teacher training campus, so that it will not trigger a college cluster.

The Head of PWI Malang Raya, Cahyono, said that this mass vaccination is a real manifestation of PWI to help the government in realizing communal immunity. According to him, if most of the community has been vaccinated or communal immunity reaches 75 percent, it will minimize Covid-19 cases.

"No less important, if it is realized properly, then there will be relaxation for the community in carrying out activities and the level of PPKM implementation in Malang Raya will continue to decrease until it enters the green zone. So that automatically the residents' economy will start to stir," he added.

Meanwhile, Malang City Police Chief AKBP Budi Hermanto said that his party has continued to collaborate with various elements of society in implementing mass vaccination. Until now, at least around 56 thousand doses of vaccine have been given to the community.

After reviewing the vaccination, the Chairman of the Malang Raya PWI, Cahyono, together with the Malang City Police Chief and the Chancellor of IKIP Budi Utomo took a photo together.

This mass vaccination, explained the Police Chief who is familiarly called Buher, is an effort to accelerate the formation of herd immunity in the Malang Raya area. "Currently we are targeting students and the community. Until yesterday, the first dose of the vaccine had reached 87,62 percent, for the second dose it was 59,59 percent. Hopefully from today's vaccination it can reach above 88 percent and even 90 percent," he continued.

On the other hand, the Rector of IKIP Budi Utomo Malang Nurcholis Sunuyeko expressed his gratitude to the Malang City Police Chief and the management of PWI Malang Raya for holding vaccinations at the institution he leads. "This vaccination is also to support the face-to-face lecture program that we will hold," he said.
