Malang City Market Traders Again Enjoy Exemption from Retribution

Malang (malangkota.go.id) – Traders in 26 traditional markets in Malang City can smile with relief. This is because the Malang City Government (Pemkot) has issued a policy of exempting market fees for the next two months.

The Mayor of Malang had a dialogue with traders at Tawangmangu Market

This policy was issued through the Malang City Mayor Regulation (Perwal) Number 17 of 2021 concerning the Exemption of Market Service Fees and Waste/Cleanliness Service Fees. This policy can be enjoyed by almost 14 thousand traditional market traders in Malang City.

Met on the sidelines of a series of #Sobopasarker campaign activities, the Head of the Cooperatives, Industry and Trade Service (Diskopindag) Muhammad Sailendra, ST., MM said that this policy is a form of concern from the Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji in responding to aspirations from the community that the turnover of market traders has not fully recovered.

"The hope is that it can ease the burden on traders during the implementation of PPKM," said Sailendra, Friday (15/10/2021).

Added Head of Trade Division of Diskopindag Sapto Wibowo, SH., M. Hum, the exemption of levies includes two components, namely the sales place levy and the cleanliness levy. In addition to the exemption of levies, the Malang City Government also continues to intensify efforts to increase the capacity of human resources (HR) of traders.

"The quality of human resources in traditional markets is strengthened by the Smart Trader Market School (Sepasar Pedas), digital market initiatives in several pilot locations and the campaign to return to shopping at the market through #sobopasarker," he concluded. (ndu/ram)
