Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – Instilling children's love for ceramic crafts, the Dinoyo Ceramic Tourism Village continues to thrive. Through the Dinoyo Ceramic Festival, children are taught how to make ceramic crafts that have become the icon of Dinoyo Village, Saturday (16/10/2021).

Tour Guide of Dinoyo Ceramic Tourism Village, Juardi said that this children's activity is an introduction to ceramics according to the world of children. They are given freedom, whether they want to draw or make simple toys using raw materials from white clay.
"Today is a form of our attention to educate children about the simple process of making ceramics," explained Juardi.
Before the hands-on practice at the Dinoyo Ceramic Museum, the children were first taken around the ceramic making center in Dinoyo. In this way, it is hoped that the children will have a real picture of how ceramics are made.
"When we asked, does anyone at home have ceramic furniture? The children answered no. But when it was explained that there were furniture such as ceramic plates, ceramic cups, and ceramic ornaments, the children just knew what ceramics were," said Juardi.
After knowing what ceramics are, Juadi added that the children were introduced to more deeply, such as the raw materials for making ceramics. White clay is a mixture of various materials, ranging from caulin, quartz sand, ball clay, and feldspar. "After the raw materials are introduced, the children are invited to play by making various toys from white clay," said Juardi.
By inviting children to play, it is also taught that children dare to be creative and are not afraid of getting dirty. With materials that are safe for children, the process of learning to make ceramics becomes fun.
The child participant of ceramic making, Azaria Fahmi Ramadan, admitted that he was happy to be able to play and learn to make ceramics. The activity of making ceramic crafts in between school holidays. "Although tiring, I also enjoyed learning to make ceramics. I just found out today that ceramics are made from clay," explained Fahmi. (cah/ram)
