Starfruit, MC – Deputy Mayor of Malang Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko became a resource person in the work plan for facilitating activities of the Interfaith Harmony Forum (FKUB) at the Hall of the National Unity and Politics Agency (Bakesbangpol) of Malang City, Tuesday (26/10/2021).
Bung Edi, Sofyan Edi Jarwoko's nickname, said that since the decree in August 2020, the Malang City FKUB has continued to play an active role in realizing a conducive Malang City. From the FKUB, various activities have been carried out to maintain the situation in Malang City so that it remains safe and peaceful, including during the Covid-19 pandemic.
"The greatest potential of Malang City is harmony itself, therefore we must continue to cultivate and develop how to maintain harmony in Malang City," explained Bung Edi.
Harmony in Malang City has been proven, even though Malang City has various ethnic groups so that it is like a miniature Indonesia. All of this can happen because of cooperation with all parties including FKUB. Not only harmonious, said Bung Edi, but the Indonesian nation has the capital of mutual cooperation, respecting each other. This capital must continue to be developed so that Malang City can always remain harmonious and conducive.
"Malang City can remain conducive as it is today, it is not something that is easy to achieve. It requires cooperation with all parties, maintaining harmony and also strengthening mutual cooperation," he said.
The capital of harmony and mutual cooperation that Malang City currently has must continue to be nurtured and developed. For that reason, in the 2022 work plan, everything continues to be sharpened. Moreover, in 2022, President Joko Widodo has declared it as the year of tolerance between religious communities.
"This is very much in line with what Malang City is doing. This condition is a great opportunity for FKUB to give the best for Malang City and also the Indonesian nation," he concluded. (cah/ram)
