This is Malang City's Commitment to Combating Infectious Diseases

Malang, MC – Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji invited all people to maintain environmental cleanliness, especially in the home environment so that they are not easily attacked or infected by diseases, especially infectious diseases. In addition, sanitation and air circulation must be maintained properly, so that a healthy life is created.

Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji conveyed the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness and health to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.

These were some of the things conveyed by the bespectacled man when opening the 'Tuberculosis Service Network Meeting at Government and Private Health Facilities' at the Regents Park Hotel in Malang, Wednesday (27/10/2021). According to him, a dirty and unhealthy environment can also trigger the transmission of diseases such as tuberculosis (TB) which is very dangerous if not handled properly.

Sutiaji added, until now in Malang City, around 900 out of 2.200 thousand residents have been detected as suffering from TB. However, what is polemic is that sometimes residents do not report or take the disease lightly. "Therefore, the ranks of health centers and clinics must be more proactive in detecting and treating TB sufferers. Health workers can go directly to the dasawisma or PKK mothers," he added.

Not only recording data, explained the number one person in the Malang City Government, how from all that also provides education or literacy to the community regarding the symptoms and dangers of TB. So that residents who are indicated to be infected can immediately report for treatment which in the end does not have fatal consequences.

"On the other hand, the community must also be aware of preventing the transmission of TB, one of which is by maintaining cleanliness," he appealed.

Mayor Sutiaji also requested that residents who are infected and receive medical treatment should follow and carry out all of his recommendations. Such as finishing all the medicine given. Because sometimes people feel that they have recovered, even though the medicine or prescription is still there, they do not continue. In fact, that is wrong, because the prescription must be finished so that what is suffered is truly cured.

"Because it is currently raining frequently, we urge the public to be more vigilant in various matters. Not only because of the Covid-19 pandemic, there are currently indications of many disease transmissions. So everyone must be vigilant. Not only tuberculosis, but also other infectious diseases, including the current risk of dengue fever," explained Sutiaji.

By moving together, and with high awareness from each citizen, the man born in Lamongan Regency is optimistic that all of this will be resolved well. At the end of his presentation, he also invited all levels of society to always implement health protocols and participate in vaccinations. "Although this pandemic has started to subside, we must not be careless because the pandemic is not over yet," concluded Sutiaji. (say/ram)
