Malang (malangkota.go.id) – The role of mass media is very strategic in various aspects of life and even the media can change the mindset of society. Therefore, the mass media should be consistent and stay on track according to the expectations of society. Through the news presented, these media circles should be able to bring a refreshing atmosphere.
This was conveyed by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji when attending the 6th anniversary celebration of the Memo-X Morning Daily at Ruko Dinoyo, Thursday (28/10/2021). The bespectacled man added that the mass media must also bring a conducive atmosphere and avoid friction between groups or factions.
The number one person in the Malang City Government also congratulated the anniversary of Harian Pagi Memo-X and hoped that the mass media and the mass media in general would remain critical. "On the other hand, without the mass media, the government's performance and programs will not be conveyed and will not be known by the public," he said.
No less important, Sutiaji added, the mass media must also be partners of the government, but must remain critical. "In essence, these mass media crews can position themselves proportionally without ignoring professionalism," he explained.
"As one of the pillars of democracy, the mass media through the news presented plays a major role in determining the direction/image of democracy in this nation. This nation will become an advanced, great and competitive nation if the mass media also contributes positively to it," concluded Sutiaji. (say/ram)
