Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) held a waqf socialization at the Savana Hotel, Malang City, Monday (22/11/2021). This event involved 200 mosque administrators so that residents and mosque administrators could manage the waqf land.

Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji when opening the event hoped that the mosque administrators could know the certification process of waqf land used to build the mosque. In addition, also take care of the legality of the land on which there is already a mosque building.
"This land issue is very complicated so that the mosque administrators must understand the rules for managing the certificate of rights to this waqf land. Thus, it does not trigger conflict and residents can carry out worship properly," added Mayor Sutiaji.
The bespectacled man said that a person's faith, economy and behavior can also be reflected from the existence and function of the mosque in their environment. "We want the function of the mosque to bring blessings to the community. We don't want there to be problems or disputes about the mosque in 2022," added Sutiaji.
In addition to the National Land Agency (BPN), his party has ordered the village heads to assist in the process of issuing certificates of land rights for the mosque. For example, land that still belongs to the Malang City Government, said Sutiaji, then the takmir must immediately submit a grant. In this case, the Malang City Government does not want to apply customary law in resolving land disputes for places of worship because from a legal perspective it is not strong.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Public Welfare and Community Section of the Malang City Government, Drs. R. Ahmad Mabrur, agreed with what the Mayor of Malang said. According to him, until now there are 539 mosque waqf lands that do not yet have land title certificates. "We appeal and encourage mosque administrators to immediately take care of it," he invited.
Mabrur also did not deny that the administration of this waqf land sometimes has obstacles. Such as when the waqf has died and the heirs must take care of the legality with a number of costs. "But there is no need to worry because the mayor has said that his party will help," he concluded. (say/ram)
