Empowering MSMEs, Malang City Receives Award from East Java Governor

Surabaya, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) carried out the most transactions in the utilization of procurement of goods/services to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in East Java through the East Java Online Shopping (Jatim Bejo) application. Therefore, the Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa gave an award in Surabaya, Monday (22/11/2021).

Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji when receiving the award, said that the Malang City Government as of August 31, 2021 had made shopping transactions on the Jatim Bejo application worth Rp2.959.536.672,00.

"Malang City was chosen to receive the Jatim Bejo award. Because it has joined and conducted transactions in Jatim Bejo," said Mayor Sutiaji.

According to Sutiaji, this is in line with the commitment of the Malang City Government to continue to strengthen the role of MSMEs through digital. His party appreciates this innovation from the East Java Provincial Government. Because it is the spirit of MSME actors in strengthening the community's economy.

"Of course, this also encourages transparency and accountability of the procurement of goods or services itself. The performance of the ranks of the Malang City Government through the Goods and Services Procurement Service Section," said Sutiaji.

Meanwhile, East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa appreciated the regional heads in East Java, including the Mayor of Malang who moved Malang City to use the Jatim Bejo application in the procurement of goods and services. The goal is to strengthen MSME actors to be empowered in the economic sector.

"Thank you to the regents and mayors who continue to make efforts to always build accountability and transparency. More than that, as I often say, the backbone of East Java is in MSMEs," explained Governor Kofifah. (public relations/ram)
