Malang City Health Office Accompanies Islamic Boarding Schools from Disease Threats

Klojen, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) through the Health Service (Dinkes) held an Evaluation of the Islamic Boarding School Health Post (Poskestren) Assistance Activities at the Tugu Hotel, Malang City, Monday (29/11/2021).

Head of the Malang City Health Office, Dr. Husnul Muarif, conveyed the importance of maintaining health.

Head of the Malang City Health Office, Dr. Husnul Muarif, said that Poskestren is a movement to strengthen the healthy living community movement (Germas) during the pandemic. This was done considering that Malang City currently has many Islamic boarding schools.

"We want Islamic boarding schools in Malang City to be healthy, safe, and comfortable. This requires a joint commitment from students, caregivers, and parents," explained Dr. Husnul.

Currently, the Malang City Health Office has provided various assistance including in Islamic boarding schools. In 2020, 10 Islamic boarding schools were assisted and in 2021 there were five Islamic boarding schools. The assistance was carried out to see the progress of changes in the fostered Islamic boarding schools from June to November 2021.

"So far, the development of Islamic boarding schools has been encouraging. Where the Islamic boarding school community is able to provide change, both students, caregivers, and parents of students. In the future, his party hopes that more Islamic boarding schools in Malang City will receive assistance," he continued.

Through this opportunity, Dr. Husnul also said that until now the Covid-19 pandemic has not stopped. Starting from the beginning of the Alpha, Beta, Delta, and Omicron positions. This is not over yet, new variants have emerged. "This means that this virus is always changing according to changes in behavior in society," explained Dr. Husnul.

The Omicron variant was found in South Africa and has entered Hong Kong and Israel. Therefore, Indonesia needs to be careful and vigilant with this new variant. The Malang City Health Office will try to prevent the new variant virus from entering Malang City. (cah/ram)
