Lumajang, (malangkota.go.id) – Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji distributed direct aid to victims of the eruption of Mount Semeru in Pronojiwo District, Lumajang Regency, Monday (6/12/2021). This aid was collected through collaboration with Hexa Helix Malang Raya.
The various types of assistance, such as basic necessities, water tanks, blankets, and so on. According to Sutiaji, this assistance is still in its early stages and will be distributed again after the needs of affected residents in Lumajang Regency are inventoried.
"This is the spirit of togetherness and mutual cooperation to help our brothers and sisters in Pronojiwo District, Lumajang Regency. Today, aid is distributed to our brothers and sisters affected by the Mount Semeru disaster. I also went with my community friends to directly distribute aid," said Mayor Sutiaji.
Mayor Sutiaji and the community moved to the scene from the Pronojiwo District Office. Furthermore, the group from Malang City provided basic food packages to the Sumberurip Village Office which is used as a public kitchen. The group also headed to the evacuation post at Supiturang 4 Elementary School. This post is recorded as accommodating 387 people to date.
"There are approximately Rp150 million in funds from fundraising through Baznas. But we are not giving it yet, because we will spend it according to what is needed. Today we are also taking inventory and it turns out that what is still needed a lot are clothes, children's underwear, sanitary napkins, and clean water," he concluded. (public relations/ram)
