Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) through the Agriculture and Food Security Service (Dispangtan), won the Best Forikan at the 2021 Forikan Award as Forikan that played an active role in the formation of Forikan down to the sub-district level in Surabaya, Wednesday (8/12/2021). Forikan is an abbreviation of the Fish Consumption Improvement Forum.
The Malang City Government has a Decree of the Mayor of Malang Number: 188.45/171/35.73.112/2021 concerning the Establishment of the Malang City Fish Consumption Improvement Forum (Forikan) for 2021-2023. The Malang City Government is very serious about improving the nutrition of Malang City residents by encouraging them to eat fish.
"Liking to eat fish is a must. Because many vitamins are produced from eating fish," said Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji, after receiving news that Forikan Malang City won an award.
Although Malang City does not have a sea, he explained, the invitation to enjoy eating fish remains a must to provide additional nutrition for the next generation of the nation. He asked residents to learn and get their children used to eating fish. So that those who initially did not like fish, maybe because it was fishy and so on, could become interested in eating fish because they have been accustomed to it.
"By being fond of consuming fish, it can affect the stunting rate in Malang City. That is one way for the Malang City Government to prevent stunting due to unmet nutritional needs," he continued.
The Head of TP PKK Malang City who also serves as the General Chairperson of Forikan Malang City Widayati Sutiaji, S.Sos., MM said that her party also continues to collaborate with various parties to prevent stunting. One of them is with the Malang City Dispangtan campaigning for a movement to like eating fish.
"Forikan Malang City is one of the partners of TP PKK Malang City through Dispangtan Malang City. We continue to strive and strive to campaign to Malang City residents to enjoy eating fish," said Widayati.
According to him, the campaign to eat fish will give satisfactory results. Because initially there were children who did not like to eat fish, finally curious and wanted to eat fish. The ultimate goal is, the fulfillment of children's nutrition in Malang City.
Meanwhile, Acting Head of Malang City Dispangtan and Daily Chairperson of Malang City Forikan Sri Winarni, SH., MM said, thanks to the hard work of all parties, Malang City was finally named the Best Forikan by the Chairperson of East Java Forikan Arumi Bachsin at the 2021 National Fish Day (Harkanas) Discussion event.
"Through this award, hopefully it will be our motivation to be more active in campaigning the movement to eat fish to the community," he concluded. (ram)
