In this event, DLH also held a focus group discussion (FGD) regarding the planning of the detailed engineering design (DED) for the TPU.

"TPU Lesanpuro is part of the realization of the Malang City Government's commitment that has been translated into the RPJMD. The goal is to present a comfortable and sustainable environment," said the Assistant for Government and Public Welfare of the Malang City Regional Secretariat Drs. Mulyono, M.Si.

In addition to providing burial land for the community, the construction of TPU Lesanpuro is also expected to increase green open space (RTH) in Malang City. The plan is that the land designated as TPU will be 14.950 m2, divided into two areas of 11.430 m2 and 3.250 m2.

Through Mulyono, the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, delivered his direction regarding the TPU development plan in the Kedungkandang District area. Optimizing capacity in the form of neat and modern blocks is one of the points. In addition, the construction of this TPU also needs to pay attention to circulation patterns that must be easily accessible to each block, including for people with disabilities.

"The availability of strategic utility networks such as water channels, lighting, and electricity must be done properly. The availability of officer rooms, toilets, public service rooms and other public spaces must also be accessible. Likewise, there is a need for easy-to-read and iconic directional signs and information boards," he continued.

As a green open space, the selection of plants needs to receive more attention, namely shade plants and thematic shrubs, beautiful and efficient in maintenance. He also hopes that DLH will prepare management and communication with the community.

"Let's continue to strengthen the hexa helix synergy in the process of formulating concepts, development to activation or utilization of TPU Lesanpuro," concluded Mulyono.

As the agency overseeing the construction of TPU Lesanpuro, DLH expects input from all parties related to this development plan. "Please provide input regarding TPU Lesanpuro which God willing will be built in 2022," said Head of DLH Malang City Drs. Wahyu Setianto, MM.

"Of course, various inputs and discussion results can be positive inputs in the planning of this public facility. Thus, the construction of a neat, modern, and comfortable TPU for the community can be realized well," he concluded. (ari/ram)
