"In addition to house renovation, a toilet was also built in Pandanwangi. Because here there are six families who do not have a bathroom. So all this time they have been doing toilet activities in the Brantas River," said Sulton.
This house renovation, he said, is an activity in the framework of the PKK Unity Movement Day (HKG). Later, his party will hold ongoing activities for 2022. Baznas has also coordinated with the Regional Planning and Development Agency (Bappeda).

For your information, the assistance distributed by Baznas Malang City is the result of donations from state civil servants (ASN) in Malang City," said Sulton.
Widayati Sutiaji also revealed that this activity is the result of collaboration with the nation's children who actively provide data related to community needs, so that the policies made can be right on target. She also appreciated Baznas Malang City for supporting the program.
"We join hands with Baznas. Many things have been given to us from Baznas, such as assistance to 200 orphans who are victims of Covid-19, each of whom received Rp3 million and also school supplies," said Widayati.
In addition, there is also a house renovation and today two houses that have been renovated and are habitable were handed over. "Hopefully in the future TP PKK can continue to join hands so that they can help the government more in dealing with poverty in Malang City," explained Widayati.
Widayati hopes that the presence of TP PKK Malang City can provide motivation for the community. In addition, she also appealed to the community to continue implementing health protocols.
"The Covid-19 pandemic is not over yet, so health protocols must still be adhered to. In addition, stunting in Malang City is 12%, so it is our duty, especially the PKK, to eliminate stunting for socialization to families, namely by minimizing early marriage and urban farming," he invited.
Meanwhile, Head of the Public Welfare and Community Section Drs. R. Achmad Mabrur said, this house renovation assistance is a way for the Malang City Government together with related parties to eradicate poverty in Malang City. Because in Malang City there are several residents who really need a helping hand from all parties.
"Through Baznas, we at the Malang City Government are implementing the Gerbu program or the Thousand Rupiah Movement which is collected from ASN every day. Then collected by Baznas to be distributed to Malang City residents in need," said Achmad Mabrur.
He hopes that next year there will be more Malang City residents who are helped through this Gerbu program. Where this year, Baznas has distributed assistance for home renovation and paying off debts of residents who are entangled in online loans. (ari/ram)
