Jakarta, (malangkota.go.id) – Towards the end of 2021, Malang City again won awards from IT Work Magazine in Jakarta, Tuesday (21/12/2021). Malang City won two awards, namely Top DIGITAL Implementation 2021 #Level Stars 4 for the Malang City Government and TOP Leader on Digital Implementation 2021 for the Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji.

Mayor Sutiaji said that this award is proof that the Malang City Government always works hard, smart, and sincerely to serve the people of Malang City. This is also related to the spirit of the Malang City Government in implementing Malang Smart City.
"Various public service facilities based on technology and digitalization are presented to improve public services in Malang City," said Sutiaji.
Sutiaji said that Malang City has become one of the cities that has received assistance from the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kemkominfo) regarding the 2021 smart city launch program with 47 regencies/cities in Indonesia. In the program, there are six indicators, namely smart governance, smart branding, smart economy, smart living, smart environment, and smart society.
"So for the next 10 years or until 2031, we will continue to intensify various innovations. The goal is to help and solve various urban problems. So that from this smart city program, it will increase regional competitiveness and improve the quality of various services," said Mayor Sutiaji.
The concept of Malang Smart City, he said, is not only to make people smart, the environment smart, and life smart with the presence of technology. However, the development of a smart city in Malang City will be able to renew everything about Malang City, such as the icon of Malang City, the potential of Malang City, and various things that build Malang City.
"The goal of this program is acceleration, accuracy, and transparency. Malang City has great strengths, such as quality human resources. So that it can produce various startups as drivers of Malang City's creative economy," he continued.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Malang City Communication and Informatics Agency (Diskominfo), Muhammad Nur Widianto, S.Sos, said that to encourage the acceleration of Malang Smart City, his party has created various applications to facilitate services in Malang City.
"We have collaborated with various parties to create various applications to make it easier for the people of Malang City to get public services. Some have been running since 2016, such as SAMBAT Online which makes it easier for the public to ask questions and complain about public service issues," said Pak Wid, as Muhammad Nur Widianto is called.
Most recently, his party has provided a special online registration website https://vaksinasi.malangkota.go.id/ for people who will take part in the Covid-19 vaccination. In addition, there are hundreds of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) points in Malang City http://cctv.malangkota.go.id/, Ngalam 112 emergency services, Job Fair Active application, E-JKN CEKAT application, SURADI or Digital Letter application, and so on.
"All of this is to facilitate the citizens of Malang City. Regarding the award received, this is a bonus from the hard work of all parties. We would like to thank the citizens of Malang City and all parties who have helped the progress of our beloved city," he said.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Jury, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ir. Kalamullah Ramli, M.Eng said that the determination of the winner was carried out through several stages. The method began with an initial selection of 800 prospective participants, as well as a series of judging processes that took about three months to assess success in terms of implementation and utilization of digital technology.
There are several criteria used to determine the winner to enter the Star level. First, whether the governance of information technology, such as policies, organizations, implementation of systems and procedures are good and have been implemented consistently, with continuous improvement.
"The second criterion, whether the implementation of digital technology has been successful and its use is integrated in all divisions/work units and has an impact on performance, competitiveness, and customer/community service. Third, whether the supporting infrastructure for digital technology is available according to current needs and can be developed continuously for future needs," he said.
In addition to the Malang City Government, several government agencies also won the highest awards at the "Top Digital Awards 2021" event. Among them are the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkeu) RI, the Tangerang City Government, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo), the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek), the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP), East Java Province and others.
