Klojen, (malangkota.go.id) – In order to improve the quality of educational services for children with special needs in Malang City, the Waroeng Inklusi Foundation held a Workshop and Motor Training as the Basis for Child Growth and Development at the Malang City DPRD building, Tuesday (21/12/2021).
Head of Waroeng Inklusi Afifah Setiani said that this activity is an effort to help Malang City realize itself as an inclusive-friendly city. This training is also to help teachers of special needs children in Malang City. The goal is for teachers to better understand good learning procedures for children with special needs.
"There are 350 teachers of children with special needs who participated in this activity and it was divided into three days. The first day 100 teachers, the second day 100 teachers, and the third day 150 teachers," explained Afifah.
By attending workshops and undergoing direct practice in handling children with special needs, it is hoped that it can be a provision for teachers when they return to their respective schools. According to him, becoming a teacher of children with special needs requires understanding and approach, and it is not easy to become a teacher of children with special needs.
"Through this activity we want to help and give awards to these teachers. So that they can better help students develop themselves and maximize the talents and potentials of these children," he continued.
This method, he said, is a step forward to help Malang City create an inclusive city. The event was also attended by school principals and assistants. This is intended so that there is an understanding in the learning that will be given later.
"From experience so far, with a good approach. Children with special needs will be more independent, confident, and have the ability to learn," he concluded. (cah/ram)
