Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Malang City received the predicate of high compliance with public service standards in 2021 in the city government category, with a compliance score of 87,29. With this score, Malang City is included in the green zone category.

Compliance assessment conducted by the internal Ombudsman RI. The goal is to improve and perfect the quality of public services, as well as prevent maladministration. Assessments in regional governments are conducted on four substances, namely licensing, health, population administration, and education.
Chairman of the Indonesian Ombudsman Mokhammad Najih revealed that the assessment of public services from the Ombudsman is divided into three zones. First, the green zone with a high compliance predicate. Second, the yellow zone with a moderate compliance predicate. Third, the red zone with a low compliance predicate.
"This assessment was carried out on 587 agencies consisting of 24 ministries, 15 institutions, 34 provincial governments, 416 district governments, and 98 city governments," he added when delivering a report at the 2021 Public Service Standards High Compliance Predicate Award event which was broadcast virtually, Wednesday (29/12/2021).
For information, 13 provincial governments are in the green zone, 19 are in the yellow zone and two are in the red zone. While at the district government level, 103 are in the green zone, 226 are in the yellow zone, and 87 are in the red zone. For the city government, 34 are in the green zone, 61 are in the yellow zone, and 3 are in the red zone. Of the 34 cities included in the green zone, Malang City is in 18th position.
President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) appreciated the Ombudsman for the award to ministries/institutions and regional governments that provide the best public services. This is needed to see the successes and shortcomings in the development of public services. "So that everything can be more effective, accountable, and transparent," said Jokowi.
Jokowi hopes that this assessment will be utilized optimally by ministries/institutions and local governments to create innovations in public services. Jokowi said that it is time for all ministries/institutions and local governments to realize a world-class bureaucracy. This condition must be applied evenly at all levels.
"Prove that public service standards have improved significantly. Create a monitoring and evaluation system with integrity so that the impact of its implementation can be felt by the community. We utilize and develop inclusive digital innovation. We implement digitalization to increase efficiency, effectiveness, productivity and accountability. We suppress deviations and corrupt behavior at all levels in all institutions," said Jokowi.
Meanwhile, the Regional Secretary of Malang City Erik Setyo Santoso, ST., MT accompanied by the Head of the Organization Section of the Malang City Regional Secretariat Boedi Utomo, SE., M.Si together with representatives from the Education and Culture Office; Health Office, Manpower Office, Investment, One-Stop Integrated Services; and the Population and Civil Registration Office of Malang City.
"Indeed, we do not work for trophies, but we work as hard as possible following standards and norms that are increasingly developing over time. Thankfully, our score is quite good, entering category A or the green zone. This is an evaluation, even though we have worked quite well, we must be able to improve performance and service," said Erik.
According to Erik, this assessment can be a motivation to improve performance in carrying out each task and function, especially for personnel who provide direct services to the community. (ari/ram)
