Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Traffic Unit (Satlantas) of the Malang City Police will close the flow of vehicles at several borders, such as in the Karanglo, Kacuk, Gadang, and Landungsari areas. This traffic closure will be carried out from 12.00 WIB on December 31, 2021 to January 1, 2022.

Heavy-duty vehicles are also prohibited from entering the Malang City area, except for vehicles transporting basic necessities and fuel. This is done to prevent high mobility of residents during the New Year's Eve celebrations and celebrations during the New Year 2022.
The statement was conveyed by the Head of Traffic Police of Malang City Police, AKP Yoppi Anggi Khrisna, Thursday (30/12/2021) to the media crew at the Malang City Police Headquarters. Based on the results of coordination with the Malang City Government (Pemkot), he said that the Malang City Square area will also be closed on D-1 of the new year, as well as on January 1, 2022.
Until now, from the monitoring results of Satlantas personnel, Yoppi added that the flow of vehicles has increased by 30-40 percent. So that additional personnel are added at points prone to congestion, such as on Jalan Ahmad Yani and in the Jalan Raden Intan area. In addition, several traffic lights when the green light is on are also added to smooth the flow of traffic.
Yoppi further said, for the flow from the Karanglo toll exit that will go to the center of Malang City, before the vehicle goes up the flyover, it is directed to the left and passes Jalan Panji Suroso. Likewise, vehicles from Jalan Raden Intan or Arjosari Terminal, when there is a traffic jam, are turned to the left or to Jalan Panji Suroso.
When asked about vehicles with license plates outside Malang City, Yoppi emphasized that if they do not have urgent needs or are just celebrating the New Year, they will be turned back. "For drivers who can show official documents, such as getting assignments from their agencies, they are allowed to enter Malang City," he said.
On the other hand, in order to continue to suppress Covid-19 cases, the Malang City Police provide vaccination services at the Madyopuro toll entrance and child vaccines at the service post on Jalan Ijen. "We will also tighten the implementation of health protocols at every access point to Malang City for motorists. So that Covid-19 cases can continue to be suppressed," concluded Yoppi. (say/ram)
