Kedungkandang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Indonesian Cycling Association (ISSI) of Malang City is preparing the best racers to compete in the 7th East Java Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) in 2022. ISSI is training 17 racers to win the championship in June 2022.

Malang City cycling coach Sugeng Tri Hartono confirmed that Malang City has prepared 2022 athletes to face the 17 Porprov. Currently, Malang City racers continue to undergo intensive training.
"To see the development of athletes directly. We have prepared the Malang Mayor's Cup championship in March 2022," explained Tono, Sugeng Tri Hartono's nickname, Monday (10/1/2021).
Tono revealed that from the 17 athletes prepared, Malang City is currently targeting to win four gold medals. The target is two golds for racer Muhammad Syelhan, one gold for Syifa Maulidina, and one more gold for Nilna Murni Ningtyas.
In addition to preparing athletes well, Tono admitted that he is currently waiting for confirmation from the East Java Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) regarding the cycling championship at the 2022 Porprov. The reason is, the latest news is that the cycling championship at the 2022 Porprov will be held in two places, namely Lumajang and Jember.
"If the venue of the match is known, it will greatly help the best preparation of the racers. Including to set the best strategy so that the target of four golds that they want to achieve can become a reality," said Tono.
Regarding the current bicycle racing strength map, Tono admitted that for East Java the strength is very even. Because coaching in the regions is currently continuing to develop, including Tulungagung, Blitar, Banyuwangi, and Probolinggo for BMX.
In addition, there are Kediri City, Kediri Regency, Surabaya City, and Tulungagung in the road race number. While for downhill, areas such as Magetan Regency, Banyuwangi, and Kediri City have good athletes. (cah/ram)
