Malang, MC – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) through the Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing and Residential Areas Agency (DPUPRPKP) has completed the rehabilitation of Jalan KH Malik Dalam in Buring Village, Kedungkandang District in the 2021 budget year.

Head of DPUPRPKP Malang City Ir. Diah Ayu Kusumadewi, MT said, initially the condition of the connecting road to several areas in Kedungkandang District was indeed quite damaged which hampered movement and its repair was the hope of the community. Now, after rehabilitation, the 4.100-meter road is smooth again.
"It has not been repaired for a long time. Thank God it can be budgeted in the Revised Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (P-APBD) 2021," explained Diah when contacted on Tuesday (11/1/2022).
Diah added that the road rehabilitation carried out in 35 days covered three road sections with varying widths, between 3-3,7 meters with a budget of approximately IDR 1,3 billion.
Meanwhile, Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji hopes that improving road conditions can facilitate mobility and support the economy of Malang City residents, especially Kedungkandang residents. He emphasized that he has ordered the DPUPRPKP ranks to update data on the condition of all roads in Malang City so that repairs can be carried out immediately in the following budget year.
"Mayjen Sungkono Street, Ki Ageng Gribig Street and others. I have asked PU to conduct an inventory of needs so that they can be handled both with the APBD and proposals to the province and center," added Sutiaji.
The significant decline in regional income during the pandemic has indeed become one of the challenges in completing the development agenda. Many programs and activities, including infrastructure, have had to be diverted to handling the pandemic and social assistance for affected communities. "However, I assure you that all levels of the Malang City Government will not stop trying to find solutions for the community," he concluded. (ndu/ram)
