Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Innovation and collaboration are one of the keys to economic recovery. Like a body, the economy is its heart, so its existence greatly influences various sectors. Therefore, if the economy is not controlled, it will cause many new problems.

The statement was delivered by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, when he was one of the speakers at the 2022 Malang Raya Economic Forum, Thursday (13/1/2022). The event held by Bank Indonesia (BI) Malang Representative Office at the Atria Hotel carried the theme 'Rise and Optimism, Innovation Synergy for Malang Raya Economic Recovery.'
Mayor Sutiaji added that the collaboration of three regions in Malang Raya will produce something extraordinary. Because, Malang City, Batu City, and Malang Regency each have different advantages and potentials.
In this event, the number one person in the Malang City Government (Pemkot) delivered material labeled 'Optimism for the Recovery of the Malang City Regional Economy Post-Pandemic'. According to him, Malang City has good quality human resources, Batu City with its tourism and Malang Regency with its agriculture.
"From strong synergy, it will create a new market in an effort to grow and strengthen the economy. Malang Raya is a strong supporter of the East Java economy, and even supports national economic growth. So the economic activity in Malang Raya is worth considering," explained the bespectacled man.
Furthermore, Sutiaji said that in order to strengthen the economy, regional readiness is needed, such as in terms of policy and the active role of regional heads. "No less important is the readiness of micro and macro economic actors, such as micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). In this context, curation houses must also be presented," he continued.
With strong synergy in Malang Raya, Sutiaji explained, it will meet the needs of the regional market. So that for the next step it can be discussed or planned for export.
"We should not prioritize exports, if domestic or regional needs, even though exports are also a factor supporting economic growth," he concluded. (say/ram)
