Minister of SOEs Distributes Assistance to Honorary Teachers

Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – As a form of concern for the world of education, the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) continues to provide appreciation and distribute assistance to those in need. Such as for students, college students and educators. So that the world of education in this country is more advanced and developed and has high competitiveness.

In this regard, on Saturday (15/1/2022), Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir handed over assistance to honorary teachers. Symbolically, the assistance intended for 3.638 honorary teachers spread across 22 provinces was held at the Graha Cakrawala building, Malang State University. This is because teachers are important figures and have contributed to producing a brilliant future generation.

Titled BNI Peduli, this Rp18,19 billion worth of assistance is given to honorary teachers at all levels of education and from both public and private schools. These honorary teachers come from the Underdeveloped, Frontier, Outermost or 3T areas who are over 50 years old.

Previously, Minister Erick said, the Ministry of SOEs provides scholarships for children from underprivileged families and a number of sons and daughters of the TNI-Polri whose ranks are below sergeant and have a GPA above three. "Of the various programs that are being rolled out, these two programs will be implemented continuously," he said.

According to him, education is the key to success and he knows there are still many shortcomings from the government. But of course with the efforts given, hopefully it can improve the anxiety of teachers who have felt lacking.

"Like how we also provide scholarships to many parties, it is a sustainable program, not a political program but a BUMN program, BUMN is present for the people," explained Erick.

He further said that education is the foundation and basic capital to produce a generation of the nation with character and high competitiveness. Together with state-owned enterprises institutions such as banks of the State-Owned Bank Association (Himbara), the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises will continue to target a number of regions, especially those included in the 3T, in an effort to continue to improve the quality and quality of education.

What is the program of the Ministry of SOEs received positive appreciation from the Head of the Education and Culture Office of Malang City, Suwarjana, SE., MM. According to him, although Malang City is not included in the 3T area, at least this program will continue to touch Malang City. According to him, so far the program has been running in Malang City, especially in the form of providing scholarships for students from underprivileged families.

"Of course we strongly support this program, because in general it will continue to improve and enhance the quality and standard of education in general," added Suwarjana. (say/ram)
