Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The occurrence of extreme weather where rain falls with high intensity accompanied by strong winds, especially in Malang City in the last few days because it is currently entering the peak period. This extreme weather will even continue to occur until next February in Malang Raya and also in several areas in East Java.

Some of these things were conveyed by one of the employees of the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Karangploso Malang Petty Yuliana on Tuesday (19/1/2022). The trigger for this extreme weather, she said, was due to the meeting of air masses which caused larger convective clouds.
For information, convective clouds are clouds produced by the convection process due to solar radiation heating. From the increase in convective clouds, Petty said, it causes heavy rain that is sometimes accompanied by strong winds.
"This condition will also trigger tornadoes and hail, as happened a few days ago in several areas in Malang City," he added.
Heavy rain and strong winds, he said, will occur during the day until the evening. Because in the future there will still be extreme weather, Petty also appealed to the public to be more vigilant. Because, when the rain falls with high intensity it will also trigger other disasters, namely floods, landslides, and fallen trees.
