Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – If the inflation rate in a region is low or even high, it will have a negative impact on economic growth and regional stability. So inflation must be well controlled in order to create a conducive atmosphere and boost economic growth significantly.
Concretely, a number of basic necessities prices, such as cooking oil, meat, eggs, sugar, rice, and chilies must be in a stable price position or according to market prices.
These are some of the main topics of discussion in the coordination meeting for the preparation of the Malang City inflation control roadmap for 2022-2024 held by the Malang City Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID), Wednesday (19/1/2022). Malang City Regional Secretary Erik Setyo Santoso, ST., MT, while leading the meeting, said that there are four factors that can control inflation well.
The four factors known as the 4K are, namely the availability of supply, smooth distribution, affordability, and effective communication. "So that various elements in the TPID, such as the Department of Agriculture and Food Security, Perum Bulog, Pertamina, and the Department of Transportation must strengthen each other," added Erik.
"In this context, there should be no replication of performance and or even overlapping in carrying out its duties and authorities. The elements in TPID must complement and strengthen each other," he stressed.
Deputy Chairman of Malang City TPID Azka Subhan Aminurridho said, for the next three years, the inflation rate is targeted to be at plus minus three. According to the man who is also the Head of Bank Indonesia Malang Representative Office, although Malang City is not a producing area for a number of basic community needs. However, if the parties in TPID synergize well, there will be no price spike.
On the other hand, he said, cheap markets are the last step when there is a fairly high price increase for the community's basic needs. "In this case, how can Malang City balance as a city that is not a producer in the fields of agriculture, animal husbandry and must meet the needs of these commodities. Malang City must also be able to maintain the availability of other finished goods so that inflation is well controlled," said Azka. (say/ram)
