Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) together with representatives from various stakeholders discussed the Initial Draft of the 2023 Regional Government Work Plan (RKPD) in the Public Consultation Forum at the Savana Hotel, Wednesday (19/1/2022).

"Starting from the dynamics, achievements, challenges, the draft theme of the 2023 RKPD is the strengthening of the creative industry through digital transformation with the support of integrated infrastructure," explained the Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji.
Sutiaji also expressed his highest appreciation to all parties for their support during the 2018-2023 Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD). Sutiaji also humbly apologized for the community's aspirations that had not been completed.
"There is nothing that cannot be done if we continue to build cooperation in a collaborative, innovative, resilient and aspirational manner," explained Sutiaji.
Sutiaji is optimistic that 2023 will be the peak year of national and regional economic revival. "We need to take advantage of this, the momentum in the final year of the RPJMD, to achieve the development indicator targets that have been set," said the mayor who loves to read.
Sutiaji explained that the pandemic has indeed affected the achievement of several targets in the last two years. For example, the contraction of economic growth, increasing poverty, and unemployment rates in 2020.
Likewise, the performance of several indicators was recorded as remaining positive during the pandemic. Among them, the Human Development Index (HDI) which includes components of education, health, and people's purchasing power increased from 81,45 (2020) to 82,04 (2021). The strengthening of the socio-cultural dimension was also monitored from the improvement in the Community Development Index (IPMas) and the Gender Development Index (IPG).
"In terms of governance, significant achievements can be seen in the increase in the value of the Government Agency Performance Accountability System (SAKIP) indicator which rose from BB (2019) to A (2020)," added Sutiaji.
Sutiaji explained that only 11 regencies/cities in Indonesia have succeeded in obtaining this predicate. This achievement coincides with the achievement of the Fair Without Exception (WTP) opinion predicate for the Performance Audit Report on the 2020 Regional Government Financial Report from the Indonesian Audit Board (BPK) for the 10th consecutive time.
"There are five priorities for 2023, namely meeting performance targets, strengthening the resolution of major problems (flooding, congestion, and unemployment), strengthening the resilience of the health system, activating and expanding the creative economy and smart cities, and strengthening city branding," he continued.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) Dwi Rahayu SH., M.Hum said that the Public Consultation Forum is part of the development planning process to accommodate public aspirations regarding the initial draft of the 2023 RKPD as stipulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 86 of 2017 on Procedures for Planning, Controlling and Evaluation of Regional Development, Procedures for Evaluation of Draft Regional Regulations on Regional Long-Term Development Plans and Regional Medium-Term Development Plans, and Procedures for Changes to Development Plans.
"We invited approximately 225 representatives of various stakeholders as a real form of public participation," explained Dwi.
