Klojen, (malangkota.go.id) – In order to restore tourism after the Covid-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (Ministry of PUPR) held a Socialization of General Guidelines and Management Manual for the Integrated and Sustainable Tourism Development Program (P3PTB) offline and online at the Santika Hotel, Surabaya, Friday (21/1/2022).

In this event, the Malang City Government (Pemkot) followed it online from the Ngalam Command Center (NCC), Malang City Hall. This event aims to increase tourist visits to Indonesia with various steps, one of which is by holding a socialization of the Bromo Tengger Semeru (BTS) destination.
Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji welcomed the real steps taken by the central government to restore tourism in the region. According to him, this is something that must be supported by the regional government. So that tourism in the region can recover from the Covid-19 pandemic which has not yet ended.
"Hopefully through this program, tourism in Malang City, and throughout Indonesia can rise again. So that residents around also feel the impact economically. Because various micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and culinary crafts can be sold to visitors," said Sutiaji.
In addition, he said, in Malang City there is indeed no natural tourism like in Batu City and Malang Regency. However, Malang City is the center of culinary and accommodation for tourists. So his party continues to ask all parties to improve to provide the best for tourists.
Meanwhile, the Minister's Expert Staff for Integrated Development of the Ministry of PUPR Ir. Achmad Gani Ghazaly Akman, M.Eng.Sc revealed that P3PTB will be carried out for tourism development in priority tourist destinations. This will be done by strengthening the synchronization of planning and budgeting with a holistic, integrative, thematic, and spatial approach.
"The expansion of the three other priority tourist destinations, namely Komodo National Park (TNK), Labuan Bajo in East Nusa Tenggara, Bromo Tengger Semeru (BTS) in East Java, and Wakatobi in Southeast Sulawesi Province," explained Gani.
The purpose of this socialization activity, he said, is to align understanding between the central government and regional governments in the development of integrated and sustainable tourism. This is done by strengthening a joint commitment in implementing development, explaining the coordination mechanism, policy synchronization, and explaining the financing mechanism for sustainable tourism development.
"The program's goal is to improve the quality and access to basic tourism services and infrastructure. Improving the local economy of the community from tourism development and encouraging private investment at the regional level is a national priority," he continued.
The priority tourist destination areas include Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Prambanan and Borobudur in Yogyakarta, Lombok, Bromo Tengger Semeru, Labuan Bajo in East Nusa Tenggara, and Wakatobi in Southeast Sulawesi.
"The expected impact is an increase in the number of domestic and international tourists. So that it improves the economy of residents around the location because of visitor spending, and increases the number of new jobs related to the tourism sector," he concluded. (cah/ram)
