Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Various efforts continue to be made and intensified by Malang City to narrow the space for movement or the spread of Covid-19 transmission, especially the new variant, Omicron, which continues to be a threat. Until now, there are 82 residents who have been exposed to the virus and of that number, 15 people are predicted to recover soon.

The trigger, in addition to the mobility of people from outside the city and province, is that public awareness in implementing health protocols has begun to decline. This was conveyed by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji after the roll call of the Health Protocol Enforcement Motorcycle Patrol Troop (Pamor Keris) in the community.
"Based on data from the Ministry of Health, public awareness in implementing health protocols, which was originally around 92,7 percent, is now 92,4 percent. So the function and active role of the Pamor Keris troops will be intensified and will collaborate down to the RT/RW level," said Sutiaji at Malang City Hall, Monday (24/1/2022).
Although there are no blockades, these troops will monitor the movement or mobility of people, especially those from outside the city, migrant workers, and help prepare several integrated isolation places (isoters). "No less important, the Implementation of Micro Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM), tracking of Covid-19 cases and swab tests will be increased again," he added.
Health protocols, he said, are still being strengthened because during Christmas and New Year 2022, many people had already stolen a start, even though it was prohibited, residents took leave before the Christmas and New Year celebrations, so that people's mobility was extraordinary. This is one of the factors that triggered the high number of Covid-19 cases. In addition, people are indeed starting to ignore the implementation of health protocols.
Meanwhile, Malang City Police Chief Senior Commissioner Pol. Budi Hermanto. In conditions like this, he said, where the Omicron case continues to target, then every community must be more cooperative. If you want to hold an activity and invite a large number of people, you should report to the local Covid-19 Task Force and take care of the permits.
"So that officers can monitor and anticipate various possibilities. However, we will not immediately give permission for crowds. If it triggers a crowd or violates health protocols. For those who are proven to have violated, we will take firm action," continued the man who is familiarly called Buher. (say/ram)
