Sutiaji Reminds of Security and the Importance of Health Protocols

Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji appealed to the public to implement health protocols. This is due to the increasing number of Covid-19 cases in recent times. In addition, he invited the entire community to play an active role in maintaining the condition of Malang City so that it remains safe and conducive.

This was conveyed during the Malang City Ulama and Umara Gathering activity in the Courtroom, Malang City Hall, Wednesday (26/1/2022).

"The purpose of this activity is to unite one vision in order to maintain conduciveness in Malang City. Because now there are issues of ethnicity, religion, race, and inter-group (SARA) that are developing," explained Sutiaji.

According to Sutiaji, Malang City is a place for students from various regions. So maintaining the conduciveness of Malang City is one of the important things as an effort to maintain harmony between one region and another.

"By gathering these religious figures, it is hoped that they can convey to the wider community of Malang City. One of them is related to Covid-19, as the results of the coordination meeting with Mrs. Khofifah Indar Parawansa (Governor of East Java) that the Omicron variant is already in East Java. So we must remain vigilant," he explained.

Soon, he said, the month of Ramadan will enter. Therefore, his party invited Malang City residents to maintain vigilance and discipline in implementing health protocols, even though herd immunity has been established. The Malang City Government also continues to strengthen 3T or testing, tracing, and treatment.

"It is important for us to synergize with the parent organization, as well as the participation of Malang City residents in maintaining conduciveness. So this condition needs to be maintained and strengthened for the sake of harmony between religious communities," he added.

Also present at the event were Deputy Mayor of Malang Sofyan Edi Jarwoko, Regional Secretary of Malang City Erik Setyo Santoso, Forkopimda, chairman of the MUI of Malang City, representatives of ulama and umara, and related regional apparatus. (eka/ram)
