Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Since early February, Covid-19 cases in several areas in East Java have experienced an upward trend in positive numbers. This also applies in Malang City, especially with the outbreak of the Omicron variant virus which has experienced a significant increase.

In this regard, East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa reactivated the centralized isolation place (isoter) along with its supporting equipment. Such as medical personnel, beds, and patient curative support.
In this regard, on Saturday (5/2/2022) Governor Khofifah ensured the readiness of the Ijen Boulevard Field Hospital (RSL) as one of the places for reactivation of isoter places. The field hospital located in the Malang Health Polytechnic campus is targeted to be operational within the next week. The field hospital, which has a capacity of 320 beds, said the former Minister of Social Affairs, is intended for residents who are confirmed positive for Covid-19 with mild or no symptoms.
"Those with moderate and severe symptoms will be placed in one of the hospitals owned by the East Java Provincial Government, such as Saiful Anwar Hospital, an isoter place at the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) Office on Jalan Kawi, Malang City, and in several other hospitals in Malang Raya," said Khofifah.
Despite the reactivation of these isoter places, Khofifah appealed to the public to continue to tighten health protocols and the Covid-19 task force in each district/city to intensify testing, tracing, and treatment (3T). So that Covid-19 cases can continue to be suppressed.
Meanwhile, Malang City Regional Secretary Erik Setyo Santoso, ST., MT who accompanied Governor Khofifah positively appreciated the program of the number one person in the East Java Provincial Government. As one of the cities where Covid-19 cases have increased significantly, according to him, of course this program will be very helpful.
"The Ijen Boulevard Field Hospital is under the control of the East Java Provincial Government. However, we from the Malang City Government if indeed needed to help, such as preparation and supporting facilities and infrastructure, then we will help according to our capacity," explained Regional Secretary Erik.
