Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) moved quickly to conduct swab tests on all employees of a supermarket located on Jalan Semeru, Monday (7/2/2022). This was in response to a viral tweet regarding the alleged presence of a tourist who had traveled in the Malang City area and shared a photo of himself shopping at the supermarket while having positive Covid-19 status.

Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji said that his party found a number of notes that needed to be fixed by the management regarding the health protocol (prokes) conditions in the supermarket and had taken follow-up action.
"Earlier we found that the PeduliLindungi application was not being used so I asked for a report of the examination (BAP) by the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP). The swab test has been carried out, out of 30 samples one was positive and then we traced it together with the related health center," said Sutiaji after reviewing the swab test process.
Based on these findings, the Malang City Satpol PP immediately installed a temporary closure seal starting from February 7-21, 2022 to avoid further transmission. It is hoped that this time can also be used for improvements to health protocols by the management.
Mayor Sutiaji added that today's findings should be a reminder for everyone, including the community and business managers, to be disciplined in using the PeduliLindungi application and other health protocols.
"I appeal to all visitors who have shopped here in the last few days to actively do swabs. For the wider community, I appeal to their awareness to implement health protocols. Also for the business world so that the economy can recover together, please strengthen it, including using the PeduliLindungi application," explained Sutiaji.
Regarding the handling of individuals suspected of traveling while positive for Covid-19, the number one person in the Malang City Government informed that the Malang City Police have identified and taken steps to summon the person concerned. (ndu/ram)
